1st Week
Language School and Culture
The first week was very useful as it allowed me to get acquainted with the public transport and to gain some confidence with finding one’s way through the city. I enjoyed the Language School very much. Especially Margarita, one of teachers, was always helpful and open for questions. The lessons were fun and well planned. Although the groups consisted of people of all ages as well as all nationalities, there were no communication problems whatsoever. I must say that I was quite proud when I was asked to be on some of the pictures of the much younger students, but I suppose that once you are a stranger in a city, things like age and nationality do not really matter.
Paul's stay in London with GEB
When one of our teachers told us that we had the opportunity to make an internship in London this year, I knew immediately that I wanted to go to London. I was in the 3rd semester in my vocational training as a foreign language correspondent and we were recommended to do an internship, if possible somewhere abroad.
Two weeks after I attended a preparation seminar it all began. I was still a bit nervous but I guess that is perfectly normal, after all I’ve never spent more than a month abroad. But soon the nervousness changed into excitement.
Hi there, my name is Olivia, I am 20 years old and I made my internship in London. To give you a little insight into living and working in London I will write a bit about my experience.
I applied at GEB for an internship abroad at the end of June. The following month I was invited for an interview. Until then I did not really know in which country I will do my internship. The Team of GEB explained the procedure, what the next steps will be and asked me a few questions about myself.
