Yaroslavl
Yaroslavl is located 280 Kilometres northeast from Moscow with its 600,000 inhabitants, the capital of the administrative region and lies close to the Volga river.
Also, is one of the oldest cities in Central Russia and celebrates its 100th anniversary in September 2010. In the Middle Ages was the capital of principality and in the 17th century was Russia's second largest city. During the Polish occupation of Moscow in 1612, was known as the country's de facto capital.
Today the town is a popular tourist destination and is one of the cities "Golden Ring" (a ring of cities northeast of Moscow) of Russia. The presence of several universities makes the city very young, which do not yet succumbed to the predatory capitalism Moscow.
