Youth Formation

The funded projects GEB promotes for youth formation are usually realized within the framework of the EU-Programme „Youth in Action“ or of the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, at national level.

A) Youth exchanges:

Youngsters from different countries meet for a certain period of time (usually between 10 and 14 days) at one place to work out a topic together, to exchange experiences and to abolish mutual prejudices. The aim of these projects is to give the youngsters space and time to get to know people and cultures from foreign countries.

B) European Voluntary Service:
Youngsters and young adults are given the possibility to stay in a country that participates in the „Youth in Action“ program. The stay abroad usually lasts between 6 and 12 months and is meant to carry out a non-profit (voluntary) service. Besides the member states of the European Union also participate in the program countries from South America, East and Southeast Europe.
